Strip photo metadata
Re-save a photo so GPS, camera, and other EXIF fields are gone. JPEG, PNG, and WebP can also drop those blocks without recompressing.
Strip metadata only keeps the original pixels for JPEG, PNG, and WebP. A re-encode is a new file, so it is not byte-for-byte. Other image tools on this hub also offer Strip metadata only.
A photo can carry the camera model, the time, and a GPS point. This page saves a copy without those fields. JPEG, PNG, and WebP can drop the blocks and keep the same pixels. A re-encode is a new file, so the bytes will not match the original even when the picture looks the same.
- 1Drop the photo.
- 2Choose JPEG or WebP quality.
- 3Download the clean file. The byte size is shown because metadata removal is not a separate preview.
The download is a new encode, so camera and GPS metadata are not copied.

Questions
- Can I check the GPS was removed?
- The new file is produced by the canvas encoder, which does not write EXIF. A separate viewer can confirm.
- Does this hide faces?
- No. It only drops metadata.
- Nothing is uploaded. Closing the tab drops the file.
- The original file stays on your device.
